RIAI Accredited Project Supervisor for the Design Process
Stephen Dawson is a registered Architect, a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and a R.I.A.I. accredited Project Supervisor for the Design Process.
Educated in both the UK (University of Plymouth) and the USA (Mississippi State University) Stephen completed the Professional Practice Diploma in Architecture at the National University of Ireland, U.C.D.
Stephen most recently worked with Avanti Architects on the Primary Care Centres National Procurement by Public Private Partnership.
All Primary Care Centres include accommodation for Primary Care Team services including General Practitioner Services as well as a wide range of community based services such as the following: Dental Services, Community Mental Health Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Early Intervention Teams and Doctor On-Call Services.
Prior to joining Avanti Architects Stephen worked for over 25 years with practices in Cork, including Boyd Barrett Murphy O’Connor Architects and Reddy Architecture + Urbanism (formerly Reddy O’ Riordan Staehli Architects), on numerous design focused projects across a range of sectors that include Education, Residential and Healthcare.
Stephen joined Avanti Architects in 2015 prior to establishing Dawson Architects and brought his experience in healthcare design. This experience includes large healthcare facilities such as the Clinical Research Facility and Translational Research Facility for NUI Galway and University at University Hospital Galway and a 50 Bed Acute Adult Mental Health Unit also on the UHG Campus.
Whilst working with Avanti Architects Stephen was responsible as Project Architect for the Primary Care Centres National Procurement by Public Private Partnership. The projects comprise four separate Primary Care Centre Buildings in the South East of Ireland.
Stephen’s deep knowledge of current best practice in Healthcare & Residential Care Facility design along with his experience brings a systematic order to project and programme management.
Stephen specializes in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to develop technical design solutions, co-ordination and construction information. He has 3D modelling experience using Graphisoft ArchiCAD and Autodesk Revit Architecture, BIM 360 Glue and BIM 360 Field.
Stephen is also proficient in the use of other design related software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Stephen is an Autodesk Revit Architecture Certified Professional.
